The N600 was introduced in 1969. It was technologically advanced for its time, with an all alloy engine which could achieve 9000 rpm. Engine output was 36–45 hp (27–34 kW) and the N600 was capable of 81 mph (130 km/h). It delivered surprisingly peppy performance because of its light weight (around 550 kg/1100 pounds), due to compact dimensions and some plastic parts (like the boot lid). The first brakes were very weak. Rear suspension was a torsion bar and leaf springs. Production was stopped in 1972, after the sportier Honda Z600 (or Z-Act, depending on country) was introduced.

Together with the Fuji 210, Sakura entered the 1958 Around Australia rally (official name: Around Australia Mobilgas Trial) and came 4th in Class A (Car No. 14: Minawa/Oya). Both cars completed the harsh course, which virtually circumnavigates the entire continent, an extraordinary feat that will always be remembered.

The Audi Sport Quattro S1 was introduced at the end of 1984 as an update to the Audi Sport Quattro. The car featured a inline 5-cylinder engine that displaced 2,110 cc (128.8 cu in) and produced an officialy quoted figure of 350 kW (480 PS/470 bhp). However, the turbocharger utilised a recirculating air system, with the aim of keeping the turbo spinning at high speed, and the actual figure was in excess of 500 bhp (373 kW/507 PS) at 8000 rpm. In addition to the improved power output, an aggressive aerodynamic kit was added that featured very distinctive wings and spoilers to the front and rear of the car to increase downforce. The weight was lightened to just 1,090 kg (2,403 lb), and now accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.1 seconds.

However technically interesting and highly developed the Honda RC116 and RC149 may be, the most appealing, the most glamorous racing bike ever built is no doubt the 1966 Honda RC166 six. Although the Italians are known for their creations, Carcano’s masterpiece, the Moto Guzzi V8 500 cc, was a lumpish, ungainly hunk of a motorcycle when compared to the sleek, beautiful lines of the Honda. It’s the comparison between a dray horse and a thoroughbred. In addition to its specifications and beauty came the incomparable, ear-splitting howl of its six megaphones and its invincibility in the hands of Mike Hailwood, which made it a legend in its time.
Although outwardly very like the RC165, internally the engine has been changed and now has a bore and stroke of 41 x 31 mm. See second image at left. Carburetors have cylindrical slides, although sometimes flat slides are used. Power output is 60 bhp at 18,000 rpm. Like the RC149, the bike has oil coolers in the right and left hand side of the fairing. Also new are the brakes, which have now radial cooling fins instead of circumferential ones. Dry weight of the seven speed bike is 112 kg.
